We just returned from a family-filled weekend in Halstead, KS for the Old Settlers festival. Although it was pretty darn hot, we managed to have a great time swimming, parade watching, eating, and hanging out. Pool time was way fun -- everyone [Austin, Holly, Brandt, Tim, Kyly, Aunt Doris, teacher Mrs. Pyle (mom) and the Mayor (dad)] went down the slide! I'm sure had the newspaper known that the Mayor was going to be there we might have had a papparazzi frenzy! And I do recall hearing a couple small girls saying, "Mrs. Pyle is going down the slide AGAIN!". Always exciting to be home. Anderson and I stayed a couple extra days to get in some more grandma/grandpa time. Typically Old Settlers is the cap to the summer as school starts soon, this year was no different.

Before we headed to Halstead, Anderson and I traveled to Topeka to enjoy Gage park. Have to tell ya, I love that place! We went to the zoo and then had lunch at the park and road the train.

I realize that I haven't blogged about mine and Tim's Mexico trip -- or about Anderson's adventures at grandma/grandpa's house. Details to come!!
