It's so nice this morning that we decided to take our toys outside to play!

Memorial Weekend Fun

We had a very busy, but way fun, Memorial Day weekend! On Saturday Debbie, Dan and Simon came for a visit. We played on Mass Street and grilled out that night. Its so fun to watch Anderson and Simon together -- they play and learn and HUG! Anderson is so close to crawling, he gets up on his hands and knees and just rocks back and forth. We're hoping that after watching Simon move around like a pro Anderson will take the leap into motion.

On Sunday we celebrated great Aunt Kelley's 50th birthday! She was so surprised! Sunday evening we hung out at Josh's new pad (its pretty swank!) and had dinner with some friends. By Monday Anderson was worn out, whew! We grilled out that evening with Jenny and Jason and Anderson had more buddy time with Jonas.

Anderson's been trying new foods lately -- peas, grean beans, carrots and squash. Carrots seem to be his favorite. Its pretty cute when we sit down to eat, if you put the high chair tray over his hands he hasn't figured out he can bring them back out! So he'll sit there and eat his veggies with his hands at his sides. Crazy! I hope this keeps up for awhile!!

Here is Tim taking AJ for a run on Saturday morning.

Happy Half 1st Birthday!

I can't believe we're already to the 6 month mark!

Here are some funny faces :)

Chi-town

We spent the weekend hanging out with Tyson and Ashley tooling around Chicago. We had perfect weather -- which was awesome considering KC had horrendous storms on our way out! This trip consisted of quite a few firsts for Anderson.....first plane ride, first "L" trip, a new state, first zoo. Whew!

Here's me and Anderson on the plane BEFORE our 3hr delay! Yes, I thought we were being so smart having our first air trip be a mere 50min flight. However, once we boarded the plane we had a delay due to lightning, which turned out to be 3 hrs. Anderson was a rockstar! Never fussed once.

We played at the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lincoln Park Conservatory and also hit H&M (of course that one was for mom!). Tyson and Ashley took us to a great sushi place on Saturday night and we lounged around at brunch the next morning. We had such a wonderful time, Anderson talked about it the whole way home!

Pyles and Peas

We had a wonderful weekend full of a Pyle wedding, Pyle family, Mother's Day and Peas! Whew! No wonder Anderson has been napping all day today!

My parents and brothers came into town this weekend for my cousin Kellie's wedding. Between the wedding and the reception we all hung out and celebrated Austin's birthday (24th!), Mother's Day and my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. Yep, 30th! I have absolutely the most wonderful parents and we couldn't be more excited for them. Family ski trip, here we come!

For Mother's Day I was pampered by my two favorite boys with breakfast, plus they let me sleep in AND take a nap! Seriously, I have no idea when I took a nap last. As a fun event to cap off the weekend Anderson had his first taste of real food -- Peas! He gobbled them up (no surprise!), so we're off to a good start!

Don't you just love naked chubby babies!!

New Skills

Anderson's currently learning to master the new trick of sitting up. He's been starting to correct his balance when reaching and moving, which is pretty cool to watch. But he has taken some spills backwards and bonked his head. :( Nothing a big smile from mom won't fix.

Now I know babies can do a lot with their feet, but playing with their toys without the assistance of their hands is not what I had in mind! Monkey-boy, indeed!

Frienemies

Anderson and Chewy are still the best of friends right now -- mainly because Anderson is giving Chewy much more love than Tim and I are. Eventually I'm sure Anderson will turn into Chewy's biggest enemy once our "soft touches" aren't so soft anymore.

We're in the middle of laying new wood floors in our kitchen and dining room. Anderson was so excited he jumped right in to help!
