Our Last Trip in 2008

Anderson and I made our first trip alone to Grandma and Grandpa Pyle's house this week. Tim had to work so we thought we'd enjoy some more family time. We've had a great time! Hopefully in the new year we'll make trips to see lots of our friends!

Merry Christmas!

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas! We will post tons of pics from our Christmas adventures after the holidays. As Tiny Tim says from one of my favorite Christmas movies, "Bless us all!"

One Month!

A couple days late, but here's the pic from our one month burthday! Hard to believe Anderson has been here for a month! Loving every minute of it!

Cookie-coma

Anderson had a busy night decorating Christmas cookies. Amazing work, but it pretty much tuckered him out! Ok, so he had a little help from mom, dad, Uncle Brandt and Josh :)

Our 1st Christmas Tree

This past weekend Anderson enjoyed a trip out to get his first Christmas tree. We went all the way to the nearest HyVee parking lot. :) Hopefully in the future we'll go to the tree farms and cut one down. We decorated it on Sunday night and Anderson was a great help with ornament placement.

Here's a bundled up pic before we ventured out to get the tree.

And here's our finished tree

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ok, so we've been a little distracted the last couple days and haven't posted enough pictures of Anderson. We all came home on Monday and have had a great week learning about our new little man.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and we look forward to everyone meeting the newest Bateman!

The Great Pumpkin has arrived!

Anderson James Bateman was born on Saturday, November 22, at 2:18 am. He weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 21 inches long. Mom and dad are ecstatic! He has had lots of great visitors so far including meeting all of his grandparents and a couple of his uncles. Anderson will go home with mom and dad (that is weird to type) on Monday. We have posted some pictures below for your viewing pleasure. Thanks to everyone for all of the warm wishes. Don’t forget to keep checking on the blog for updates on Anderson and the Bateman Family.

KU Football

The tailgating seeing has finally come to a close. I've attended most of the KU games except Kstate and this last one against Texas. It was bitter cold, so mom and I decided a little indoor activity would be better -- shopping.

I'm 39weeks and just waiting Pumpkin's arrival. As you can see, I was subjecting Pumpkin to the elements as my coat is just a tiny bit too small. :)

The Great Pumpkin Debate

Alright, the polls are closing soon for the Great Pumpkin Debate. Get your guesses in by Saturday, Nov 8th! The prize has been determined -- the winner will receive a complimentary stay at the Bateman Inn and unlimited Pumpkin time during his/her stay. Can't wait to see who wins!!

fyi -- I'm making an executive decision that all persons who guessed a December due date are automatically disqualified as that puts undue physical discomfort and mental anguish on the mom! :)

It's November!!

We're down to the final stretch and we've had so much going on! Between showers and football games I'm going to enjoy some much needed rest these last couple weeks!! New belly pics to be posted soon!

I had a shower on the Willcott (my mom's) side about two weeks ago and got to meet my cousin's little boy Deagan (he's so handsome!) and then last week had a shower on the Pyle (my dad's) side. Everything was awesome! Here's a pic from the Willcott shower -- I'll post more when I upload the pics.

We also had Homecoming recently and my brother and the McElroys came to visit!! Here's a pic of my friend Katie and me at Homecoming....she's prego too and just found out she's having a boy! Congrats!!

Count down

I can count on one hand how many weeks I have left!! We've taken all the necessary courses and even had our pre-admission appt at the hospital. Pretty sure that means all we have to do now is wait for Pumpkin to arrive!!

Here's a pic at 35 weeks.

Charlie Brown

As we're getting closer to Halloween, the inspiration for Baby Bateman's blog is starting to show up on TV. The timeless Peanuts classic is one of my personal favorites. As Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin, I can't help but notice the resemblance to Tim and me.......

About that time.....

This weekend Tim and I took a Sunday drive in search of a pumpkin and apple cider. We hit the jackpot and decided the overwhelming evidence pointed to Baby Bateman's new name.

PUMPKIN!!

This is our final chapter of the Fruit of the Month Club for Baby Bateman. In the epilogue you'll find out Baby Bateman's name!!

Octurduckenfest 2008

Many of you have been a part of Ali's and my long standing tradition of Turkeyfest. Started in college, Turkeyfest is an annual dinner party thrown right before Thanksgiving to get everyone in to the spirit of the season. As my due date would fall on this time-honored event, we moved the date into October.

Tim and Brett added their own spin to the festivities with a turducken this year. (a turducken is a chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey......yum yum) Rumor has it that Tim and Brett want to create their own turducken for future Turkeyfests! It was a great evening!! Here are some pics.........

Let the Games Begin!!

The gender of Baby Bateman has stirred up so much conversation over the past month or so, that we decided to make a game of it. Click the link below to place your bets on the sex, weight, length and due date of Baby Bateman!

The person closest in all four categories will be crowned the winner and will receive a prize! (I promise an ACTUAL prize, not just icky diaper duty!)

Good Luck!

Parking for Two

Ever since we found out I was prego, Tim's been wanting to utilize the Expectant Mothers parking spots. It was kinda hard to justify when I was only 8 weeks prego, but I finally caved this weekend :) I wasn't sure if I needed to waddle to the front door just to prove I "needed" to use that spot!

For guys its kinda like getting a free pass to the front of the line!

Baby Shower & BBQ

What goes better together than babies and BBQ??? Maybe beer?? :)

Debbie and Ali threw me a wonderful shower over the weekend! Tons of friends and plenty of ooo's and ahhh's. Baby Bateman is totally going to be spoiled when she/he arrives!

Are these guys the best or what!?!

Look at that spread!
Spoiled rotten!

While Baby Bateman was playing with all the girls upstairs the boys had their own party downstairs in the man lair. After the shower the rain stopped long enough for everyone to enjoy a BBQ on the deck and some yummy Free State beer.
