Super - Anderson!!
It's a bird, a plane, no, it's Anderson the Pajama Man!!
He was too busy trying to play with his walking toy last night that I couldn't get his pajamas on. So he wore them around like a cape until I could slow him down!

Down the Home Stretch
Anderson hit the 9 month mark this past weekend. Now he's sailing through the home stretch to 1 year. It's been a great summer and I can't believe he's already this old!!
Progress report at 9 months:
1. We are walking ourselves along all available surfaces (sofa, wall, chair-to-chair)
2. Working on waving bye-bye
3. Favorite activity is getting the mail
4. Loves the game open-close (books, boxes, doors, you name it)
5. He has tons of crazy growing red hair that sticks out over his ears when we put a hat on!
6. We love bath time and pool time -- mom normally gets soaked on the sidelines
7. STILL body slams Chewy
8. Loves chomping on pieces of fruit (especially peaches and cantalope), however...
9. NO TEETH!!
We went to the Fiddling and Picking contest at South Park this past Sunday. What a perfect day to have a picnic and enjoy some music!!

Future Jayhawks
Last weekend Anderson met another new buddy, Liam Maloy. Our little guy is not going to be at a loss for best buds when he gets older, but so far there hasn't been too many future girlfriends in the mix. Seriously, in the last 12 months I think we know of around 10 new baby boys. Wow!!
We had a great weekend with Ali, Dave and Liam. The boys took their first stroll down Jayhawk Blvd and Anderson talked the whole way. It was like our own little tour guide!

Poor Man's Pool
My beloved wading pool closed Aug 8th, but we failed to find that out until we drove by today. Boo. As Anderson was totally ready for pool-time I refused to give in. However, I also didn't want to blow up our little baby pool. Bring in the poor man's pool....
I scoured the basement looking for anything that would hold water and Anderson. He had a fantastic time -- kinda like a bath in the sun!

Old Settlers
We just returned from a family-filled weekend in Halstead, KS for the Old Settlers festival. Although it was pretty darn hot, we managed to have a great time swimming, parade watching, eating, and hanging out. Pool time was way fun -- everyone [Austin, Holly, Brandt, Tim, Kyly, Aunt Doris, teacher Mrs. Pyle (mom) and the Mayor (dad)] went down the slide! I'm sure had the newspaper known that the Mayor was going to be there we might have had a papparazzi frenzy! And I do recall hearing a couple small girls saying, "Mrs. Pyle is going down the slide AGAIN!". Always exciting to be home. Anderson and I stayed a couple extra days to get in some more grandma/grandpa time. Typically Old Settlers is the cap to the summer as school starts soon, this year was no different.
Before we headed to Halstead, Anderson and I traveled to Topeka to enjoy Gage park. Have to tell ya, I love that place! We went to the zoo and then had lunch at the park and road the train.
I realize that I haven't blogged about mine and Tim's Mexico trip -- or about Anderson's adventures at grandma/grandpa's house. Details to come!!

Birthday Fun
We just returned from a weekend in Arkansas to celebrate Simon's 1st birthday! Technically he's been 1 since July 13th, but he's been a travelin' fool since then and it was definitely time to celebrate! Anderson and Simon went swimming on Saturday before the party and had a great time. Anderson was a splashin' king and Simon was pretty laid back. Simon's party was a huge success and there were tons of his buddies there (all between the ages of 4 months to 5 years). Anderson went swimming again on Sunday and then we headed home.
At the party there were tons of balloons, which Anderson loved, so we took some for the road to keep him entertained.
