Pancake

Anderson loves to crawl over and just pancake on top of Chewy. You would think this would aggravate Chewy, but instead he keeps plopping over by Anderson to lounge. Huh.

7 Months

So I'm a little late, but Anderson turned 7 months last week! He is now officially mobile and even crawled up the stair into the kitchen. Yikes! Baby-proofing is going to happen a lot faster than I was anticipating!

Another Whirlwind Weekend

Wow, we had another fun-filled weekend of family and driving! On Friday we headed to Halstead to celebrate Fathers' Day with my dad, and then on Saturday we drove out to Great Bend to visit great-grandma Sally.

What a crazy-weather day! It rained all Saturday morning and all the way to Great Bend. Then it cleared up for about 2hrs -- and we took full advantage and hit the Great Bend zoo. Anderson was mildly interested, he perked up at the black bears because there were seriously like 2 feet from us and at the goats. Right about the time we got back to grandma's it started raining again, and then we were in a tornado warning. Not just an "well, there's bad weather in the county somewhere" siren, but a "one touched down blocks from grandma's house" siren. Seriously! So Anderson had his first take-shelter experience, but as you can see here it seemed like he just had fun playing with dad!

On Sunday we drove back up to Lawrence to celebrate Fathers' Day with Tim. We laid around for awhile and then played pool on the deck. AJ and Tim had a great time! We capped the weekend off with dinner at Tim's dad's. What a perfect family weekend!

Bath Enjoyment

We've come a long way in our bath time experiences......

Anderson and Chewy have also been sharing the same perch at the door to watch all the activity going on outside. Don't they look like best buds??

Swim Party

We had a nice relaxing weekend full of wine club, garage-saling, a birthday party and swimming time! Ok, our swimming time was on the deck in about 2 inches of water, but Anderson loved it!! There's a great wading pool for kids 6 and under that we'll frequently visit this summer, but the company was nice here so we stayed on the deck. :)

AJ's Whirlwind Week

Better get in your comfy chair, this may be a long blog....

AJ has had a pretty exciting week. His sitter's kid was sick so he didn't go to daycare, instead Grandma Mary Jo came up to watch him for the week. Thanks Grandma! Anderson just loves to crawl/scoot all over place and people these days.

Since Kyly worked Monday-Wednesday last week, she decided to go with Anderson down to Halstead so AJ could see Grandpa too. Looks like he was in charge of the remote (which apparently no one told him was pointing in the wrong direction) and the movie selection.

I went down to Halstead on Friday night to pick him up since Kyly and her mom were going on girls trip to visit family.

As soon as we arrived in Lawrence we were off to a pool party. He really liked playing in the water once he figured out what was going on. I think he was just trying to act cool for the ladies in this photo, either that or he was still upset with me for making him put on sunscreen. If you know his parents, which I assume you do if you are reading this, then you know how important it is for him to lather up every time he steps outside.

On Sunday morning we got up and went to Grandpa Jim and Grandma Susan's farm. AJ loves the outdoors so he loved it and even helped pick some cherries.

We spent the afternoon just playing in the family room, mostly on the floor since he has learned how to crawl/scoot in the last week. I have tried to get a video of this but once he sees the camera he stops to pose.

Then we went over to Gram's house for dinner and Anderson got to meet a new friend. Can you believe that Gram's still has my favorite stuffed animal from when I was a kid?
